IN THE DAYS OF QUARANTINE
(c) 2020 Jon Strider & Robin Factor
We waltzed around the kitchen,
And tantra-cized in bed
We took long walks, had very deep talks
And purged the storage shed
Neighbors came by and we said “Hi!”
With 6 feet in between
And this is how we passed the time
In The Days of Quarantine

We worked out in the garden
And cleaned the closet shelves
We pulled some weeds and planted seeds
Took good care of ourselves
We sprouted sprouts
And painted the house
And analyzed our dreams
And this is how we passed the time
In The Days of Quarantine

As the world around us fell apart
We held each other tight
And kept our faith that someday
Everything would come out right

We kept our social distance from the avalanche of news
We took long naps and steamy hot baths
Went easy on the booze
We weathered fear and rumor
And kept our heads serene
And this is how we passed the time
In The Days of Quarantine

As the world around us fell apart
We held each other tight
And kept our faith that someday
Everything would come out right

So, when life as we know it crumbled apart
We found out what it means
To have some one to hold to
In The Days of Quarantine
To have someone to hold you
In The Days of Quarantine

(A1) Went down to the junkyard
Stole a plank or two
A lot of sweat, a little blood
Some rusty nails and glue
Then one summer's evening
Finally it was there
Pushed it to the river
and launched it with a prayer
(B1) You don't need no fancy boat
Sailin' down the stream
All it takes to get you there
Is a strong will and a dream
I gotta say I've done OK
On this little raft of wood
I've had my fun, don't hurt no one
Guess I'm doin' good
(A2) There's a couple of things to learn about
When you head out on your raft
You want a lazy river
But you can't depend on that
So keep your eyes on the horizon
Keep your hands upon the oar
Go as far out as you wanna
But don't lose sight of the shore
(B2) You don't need no fancy boat
Sailin' down the stream
All it takes to get you there
Is a strong will and a dream
I gotta say I've done OK
On this little raft of wood
I've had my fun, don't hurt no one
Guess I'm doin' good
(Bridge) You can pine about a big, white yacht
But it's not about the boat you got
What really takes you where you're goin'
Is that big, wide river that's forever flowin'
(A3) So look out for the pirates
Could be 'crocs and 'gators too
But the biggest thing to watch out for
Is the shark inside of you
Just sail on the best you can
Relax, enjoy the show
The whole thing's gonna end someday
Just give the thing a go
(B3) You don't need no fancy boat
Sailin' down the stream
All it takes to get you there
Is a strong will and a dream
I gotta say I've done OK
On this little raft of wood
I've had my fun, don't hurt no one
Guess I'm doin' good...

BRAND NEW WORLD

(New Sky Records/Track #11)

Heard about the Second Coming
Read about the rise and fall
The final days are surely here among us
The final days have come for Babylon
Look around the old world's crumbling
Just the way the Prophets told
With every nation facing Armegeddon
Every soul against the wall
All and all
(Chorus) :In a Brand New World
In a brand new key
With hope and room there
For you and me
In a Brand New World
Safe and free
Look out beyond the horizon
It's a Brand New World
The Lord of Lords, the King of Kings is coming
But not before the beast is through
Batten down the hatches for a long one
And pray that you're among the chosen few
Behold the Pale Horse and its rider
That's when all the change will come
Until that day just let your love grow brighter
Until that day after the fall
(Chorus: Repeat)
We hold this gift so fragile in human hands
One little slip and this creation will fall
All and all
Into a Brand New World (Chorus: Repeat)

WALK INTO THE LIGHT

(New Sky Records/Track #6)

Just when it all seems hopeless
And nothing's makin' sense
The door's wide open
You just don't see it yet
Open wide for you
There's a brighter place
Just beyond your view
All the shadows will erase
When you take that step of faith
Walk Into the Light
Yeah, It all gets tricky the closer that you get
Your mind gets sticky and your ways tend to set
Everywhere you turn people make you doubt
But the wise ones learn
The real world's inside of you
Calling out and guiding you
Walk Into the Light
Walk Into the Light it's right in front of you
Walk Into the Light the love is waiting there
Walk Into the Light it's flooding into you
Walk Into the Light the love was always there
With your heart wide open
You've been working with the fire
Pure emotion flaming with desire
All your insides know there's no turning back
Every sign says go
Suddenly it's crystal clear why the road has led you here
Walk Into the Light, Walk Into the Light, Walk Into the Light...

LITTLE NAPOLEON
Words & Music (c) Jon Strider (BMI/STIM)

from '2000 Calling' CD (2000)
(New Sky Records/Track #7)
Look at the grown-ups, they're just like children
Some learn to give and get along
Others are fighters, bullies and liars
Thinking they're right, but doing wrong
Look in the mirror, you'll see it clearer
The selfish little game that you play
No one can ever get near you
With that selfish pride in the way, oh
(Chorus)
Why must you be the number 1, Little Napoleon
So much to share beneath the sun
Little Napoleon
(verse2)
Look at the world, it's like a playground
Takes just a few to spoil the fun
Runaway leaders, royal deceivers
Taking their power from everyone
We've got to show them, we'll overthrow them
If they can't settle down and behave
We've got to do this together, so all the people can play
(Chorus: repeat)
When your day is over, what will you have left?
The same old sad reminder of the way you served yourself
